IT MOVED

now then.

THIS BLOG MOVED A LITTLE CLOSER TO REALITY

Something umbruch this way comes

Hey everyone. I decided to move this blog to my own webspace. The main reason is backups; which are not very easy (natively, impossible) with Blogger. I also don't like my posts to show up on search engines so easily anymore, and I don't like the idea that everything is processed through Google's servers anyway. Another reason is that I can then control the whole look of the blog, and there won't be any links in there I didn't put there myself. Note that commenting will still be free-for-all, although you might have to wait for comments to be moderated in some cases.
I am moving the blog to a server in Berlin, and to my own domain, KREIDERAUB.com in a few days. I will post another short update when this page here, kreideraub.blogspot.com, is done for; especially to let new readers, who reached the site via older links, know where to find the new thing. After that post, this blog will just sit here and get old, I won't delete it. In a week or so I will also upload a PDF with all posts and images of this blog, arranged in a neat way for you to download. I'll post an update on the new blog then.
The concept of the blog will also change a little, and there are going to be more updates on photography, music, typography and generally more stuff about my projects and my work. My personal thoughts and reflections will of course continue to be the main focus of the blog; the diary-like aspect of this has become very important to me; especially since I got a lot of new readers (still mostly people I know of course) who use the blog to see what's going on in my life. That's what this blog right here was originally made for.
Also make sure to follow me on twitter if you don't hate it ;]

PS. If anyone needs help with setting up a WordPress blog, contact me. Note that you need your own webspace (with MySQL capabilities) to do so. I can help you with that, too.

PPS. The server with the new blog is down right now; the funny thing is, that never happened before :} So anyway, you might have to wait a while until you can reach the new blog page.

The quality of iPhone shots

Low light performance is the usual crap as with all phones, but the images are really sharp (if there's enough light)... so I am impressed.

The kit in action

Making a live set for Marc via Skype video call. Had some connection problems; the new Skype is still not mind-boggingly great. Thinking about starting a BlogTV show with this.
And yeah, video of it coming soon. Have some space problems with the big tripod I'd need to use and some disk space problems as to where to put the video files for editing. No Mac Pro this year; but maybe a Leica.

Thinking about this and that. All very interesting stuff for a change. ;]

Feedback on feedback

Thanks for all the feedback you guys gave me on that decision blog post. It helped a lot. I've got two plans to chose from now. But I have a lot of time to decide, as it seems I won't be able to go to Japan before July 2010. The first plan would be a ten-week thing, mainly to be spent in Tokyo, with a tourist visa. The second plan, and so far my preference, is to get a working holiday visa and go to Japan for one year. Actually I'm pretty sure I'll go for the one year thing, as I am pretty sure I will need a few weeks to settle and get to know people. Not speaking the language at all will be getting in my way there, and I'd really love to be able to speak Japanese anyway. So why not make myself learn it. A similar thing worked for English, obviously. Yupyup.

The Sweden thing is still on my mind, but I'd rather keep a little flat in Berlin instead of having a little red house in Sweden, as P put it. Although I think living in one of those would do great things to my music skills. Kau put me in my place though, telling me that she's pretty sure I'll have new ideas as soon as I'm in Japan. She's probably right.

Making my driver's license is sort of stalled for several reasons; but I might still do it this year.

Mixing LPs all day long is a nice way to spend time, it's productive and beautiful and time loses it's importance. It's really a bit like meditation.

I'm a poser

Thinking about: irony, subtext, secrecy, messages, girls, my dad, dancing, alcohol, stairs, velocity, sand, beer, music.... yeah I think about yesterday and the day before that.
Eating: baked beanz
Drinking: jasmine tea
Creating: nothing in particular
Obsessing: iPhone+twitter+DJing!

I'm a poser, so I need to share photos to underline my obvious materialism.

Wait. No.....?
